a devotional for you....

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7

In 1969, Coca-Cola started their "It's the Real Thing" ad campaign. In 1990, they changed it slightly to "You Can't Beat the Real Thing."
This world (chariots and horses) many times offers success and victory, but supplies only disappointments and disillusionments - definitely not the real thing! Just when we think we can bank on something, it changes.
The only thing we can know for sure is that our God does not change, and we can trust in His name. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He will be with us always until the end of the age. He never slumbers or sleeps. He is the beginning and the end. He is our Rock, our Anchor, our Strong Tower, our Shelter, our Savior, our Comforter and our Prince of Peace. He is the Real Thing, and He can't be beat.
So whether you drink Coca-Cola or Diet Dr. Pepper or something else, remember that only our Lord is the Real Real Thing. Trust in Him!

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your trustworthiness and for being there for me when I need You. Thank You for Your unchanging and unconditional love. You are my Shelter I run to in the storms of this life. You are the Anchor that holds me in place in stormy circumstances. You are the Rock I can stand on in the shifting sands of this world. You are my Savior and the One and Only Real Thing. I know that I can trust in Your name, my Lord and my God. Amen
Journal idea: If you have faced some disappointments and disillusionments in your life and are dealing with some real trust issues, write in your journal exactly what you are feeling. Then list all the wonderful attributes of God that will see you through whatever is coming your way. You can trust God, and He will give you peace and comfort beyond measure.
